Elmhurst Ballet School have been invited for the eight time to collaborate with Japan International Youth Ballet (JIYB) this July. The performance on Sunday 22 July at the Tachikawa City Civic Theatre, Tokyo will also be a celebration of JIYB's 10th Anniversary. Elmhurst and JIYB dancers will be performing in Marius Petipa's 'The Sleeping Beauty' and accompanied by a full orchestra.
Team Elmhurst 2018 will be represented by Janice Felices, Lin Fujimoto, Tokiko Sasao and Joseph Taylor (Graduates) and also Andrea Canalicchio and Ryan Felix (Year 13). Elmhurst dancers will be performing Sir Peter Wright's Pas de quatre from Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of 'The Sleeping Beauty', as well as Fairies in the Prologue, Aurora's suitors in Act 1 and Puss-in-boots and the White Cat.
Elmhurst Ballet School would like to offer grateful thanks to Sir Peter Wright for permission to perform his Pas de quatre.
Our students with Mr Ho enjoyed breakfast at a restaurant at Narita Airport, before preparing to board the Express Coach Service to Tachikawa.
Team Elmhurst meet and greet staff and students of JIYB before they were put through their paces with morning class at 10am, followed by rehearsals at 11:15am to 1:30pm. They then had lunch, went off exploring and were back for evening rehearsals at 5pm!
