Throughout the school year, Elmhurst students never cease to amaze the artistic and academic staff. Over the last few months we have celebrated more international ballet competition and dance study success.
At the start of the school term, the Royal Academy of Dance’s The Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition 2021 announced its winners. The competition was held entirely online for the first time in its history and Elmhurst students past and present received medals.
The Choreographic Award was won by final year student Olivia Chang Clarke. The judges felt that her solo Rain of Tears (choreographed by Olivia) demonstrated the highest standard of choreography in the ‘Dancer’s Own’ category.
A bronze medal was presented to Hannah Martin who left Elmhurst in July to take up her apprenticeship contract with BRB. Complementing the Elmhurst training, Hannah trained with RAD Teacher Mary Goodhew, a former Artistic Director of the school.
We are also thrilled to announce that all 2020 – 2021 graduates achieved their Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance validated by Trinity College, London. Students who studied on the two-year course were successful in achieving the Level 5 Diploma.
We would like to offer our sincere congratulations to all the students mentioned above.
