Cleaner

Part-time 20 hours per week

52 weeks, not term time only

£8.91 per hour

Elmhurst Ballet School is looking for a Cleaner to join us as soon as possible.

Duties may include working in all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, dance studios, theatre, boarding houses, bedrooms, laboratories, showers, halls, corridors, workshops and toilets. Also to assist in the laundry as and when necessary. Ideal candidate should have cleaning experience and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-12pm with occasional overtime

Nurse

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, Term time only

Salary for Term time only is £26,300

FTE - Band 6

A unique opportunity has arisen for a nurse to work at Elmhurst School for Dance.

Working in the purpose built Health and Wellbeing Centre, the school nurse will ensure pupils receive excellent nursing care during their time at school.

This is a permanent, full time post.  You would be working 37.5 hours a week over five days caring for students aged 11-19 years old, with occasional Saturday cover and on-call overnight.

The nurse will have a varied role assisting with medical support for school trips, co-ordinating immunisation programmes and running/managing any health promotion clinics. You will also be responsible for any minor injuries and illness nursing and co-ordinating the care and support of students experiencing eating distress.

We are looking for a nurse who is able to work autonomously and is approachable for both students and staff. We would be particularly interested to hear from anyone with a Paediatric, A&E, Adolescent Mental Health background, with experience in eating disorders.

We are looking for a dynamic, organised and positive person to take on the exciting new role of Executive Assistant to the Principal and Senior Leadership Team at Elmhurst Ballet School. This person will be an essential member of the team helping to project manage, coordinate and support the team in realising the school’s ambitions for the future. We are keen to welcome people from all backgrounds who fit with our ‘can do’ culture and who are keen to support the next generation of exceptional dancers, exceptional people.

Houseparent,  Fixed term contract covering maternity leave (up to 12 months), Term-time only

Elmhurst Ballet School is a highly successful vocational ballet boarding school associated with Birmingham Royal Ballet and is based one mile from the city centre in Edgbaston. Students are equipped with the skills, resilience and creativity to succeed and make a difference in the professional dance world and beyond. Our philosophy is Live, Dance, Learn; supporting excellence in dance, excellence in health and wellbeing and excellence in academic study. Our aim is to train and educate students in classical ballet and other dance styles to such a high standard that graduates go on to dance for Birmingham Royal Ballet and other national and international dance companies.

The school is seeking to recruit a Houseparent to start January 2022 to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months.

The Houseparent will lead and manage a Boarding House supported by a Deputy Houseparent, working under the direction of a member of the pastoral middle leadership team.  Applicants should have proven leadership, excellent organisational skills and experience of working in a boarding environment. We are looking for a highly motivated person who is calm and professional and is willing to be involved in all aspects of the school work. The successful applicant will work in a boarding house under the direction of a Houseparent and with the support of the pastoral middle leadership team.  They should have proven skills working with young people; experience of a boarding environment would be an advantage though it is not essential and a flexible approach to their work.  Applicants should be highly motivated and keen to become involved in all aspects of the school’s work.  Applications from those offering skills that relate to the vocational dance environment and a holistic educational ethos are most welcome.

The majority of students board at the school and we offer fully equipped modern boarding houses for years 7 to 13. Lower School boarding is located on the School site and Upper School boarding is just a short walk away.

This role offers an attractive remuneration package and high-quality furnished accommodation. Due to the nature and size of the accommodation provided, we are unable to accommodate families.

For February 2022, the school is seeking to recruit a Teacher of Science on a part-time basis to cover maternty leave for up to 12 monthsElmhurst is academically non-selective but has excellent levels of student achievement.  Students are taught in classes of around 25 at KS3, with small option groups at KS4 and KS5. The majority of students board at the school with a small number of day students.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is highly successful where students have a desire to learn. Applications are welcome from NQTs as well as more experienced colleagues and those with another specialism. The successful candidate will have experience in teaching KS3 and KS4 Science, as well as A Level Biology.
