Tea, Tutus and a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Peter Darrell's Othello
On Thursday 4 June, we were delighted to welcome members of our 500 Club to our annual Tea & Tutus event - an opportunity to thank our supporters and offer a unique glimpse into life at Elmhurst.
Guests were treated to a beautifully prepared afternoon tea, expertly curated by our catering team. Accompanying the occasion was a beautiful musical arrangement by Mendelssohn, performed by a trio of the school's talented staff musicians: violin tutor Miss Junghee Keum, Ballet Pianist Mrs. Da Hee Kim and Languages Teacher Mr. Joe Roberts. Their performance provided the perfect backdrop to an afternoon celebrating the arts and the Elmhurst community.
Following the tea, guests enjoyed an exclusive rehearsal of Peter Darrell's Othello, coached by Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal Dancer Samara Downs. The rehearsal offered a fascinating insight into the artistic process behind this powerful work and the dedication, discipline and artistry required to bring it to life on stage.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for supporters to connect with one another, meet members of the Elmhurst community and experience first-hand the exceptional training and opportunities available to our young dancers.
The continued generosity of our 500 Club members plays a vital role in shaping the future of aspiring dance talent. Through their support, we are able to provide bursaries that help talented young people access world-class training and realise their ambitions of becoming the next generation of professional dancers.
The 500 Club is open to both individuals and businesses, with annual membership set at £500. Members enjoy a range of exclusive benefits throughout the year, including termly invitations to experience the vibrant life of the School, priority access to performances and sponsorship opportunities, networking events and regular updates through our termly newsletter.
We are immensely grateful to our 500 Club members for their ongoing commitment to Elmhurst Ballet School and look forward to welcoming them back for future events.
