During the 2025/26 academic year, our students have achieved remarkable success both in the studio and in the classroom. On Thursday 9 July, the school came together to celebrate those achievements at our annual Awards Ceremony, recognising students who have excelled, demonstrated exceptional commitment, or made significant progress throughout the year.
The ceremony was made even more special by the return of Elmhurst alumnus James Lovell, who joined the celebrations as guest presenter. James rose to prominence after being spotted by legendary choreographer Matthew Bourne while studying at Elmhurst, making his professional debut as The Prince in Bourne's acclaimed Swan Lake at just 18 years old. He went on to become one of the youngest principal dancers with Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, building an outstanding career in dance.
Returning to Elmhurst to present this year's awards, James shared in celebrating the achievements of the next generation of dancers, offering an inspiring example of where talent, dedication and hard work can lead. The school is immensely proud to count him among its alumni and grateful that he took the time to recognise this year's award recipients.
The Awards Ceremony also celebrated the dedication and expertise of Elmhurst's teaching and support staff, whose commitment helps every student develop artistically, academically, and personally.
Whether receiving an award, nominating a fellow student or simply striving to achieve their own goals, every Elmhurst student has contributed to another exceptional year for the school. Congratulations to all on a fantastic year, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
